Ski Man Pro Sharp

£49.50

Ski Man Pro Sharp side edge sharpener.

Description

The Pro Sharp is a beast of a tuning tool. Its heavyweight body shell is pleasingly chunky to hold and incredibly grippy. The base gliding surface is four ball bearings, which allow a silky smooth, damage free action.

The cutting tool supplied is the excellent 80mm Swiss made Ice Cut file, but this may be swapped for any longer tool up to 6mm thickness. This allows excellent tool compatibility with diamond files, stones of all types and a whole range of file types.

As a suggestion, perhaps a coarse alu-oxide stone for burr removal, followed by the standard file and finished with 600 and 800 grit diamond files could be a good set of tools.  Tools are easily swapped out with the coinslot screw clamp and edge angle is adjusted with a similar mechanism.  This is a very high quality tool and will last for many years of solid use. It definitely falls into the category of home ski workshop tools rather than being a tool for portable usage.

Ergonomically, this tool is great for larger hands in particular, the extra mass helps dampen tool chatter to an extent and feels pleasant and well controlled in action. Grip is excellent.

The available angles are variable between 85-90 degree in 1 degree increments. Obviously, this tool works on the side edges only and a suitable companion tool to this would be the Ski Man adjustable base bevel or the Kunzmann vario base bevel.
